5 Things To Consider When Choosing Your Bridal Party
Deciding who will stand next to you on your wedding day isn’t always an easy decision. It isn’t uncommon for your friend group to change considerably after you get married. Who do you foresee being in your life for years to come? Here are 5 things to consider before sending out your bridal party invites:
1. Wedding Party Size:
If you want to have the same size bridal party as your fiancé, you will need to settle on the same number of bridesmaids and groomsmen.
2. Compatibility:
Make sure you can be yourself around your bridal party, and that they can be themselves around you and your guests. You will spend most of your time with your bridal party at all wedding events, this is not the time to feel judged or be embarrassed by anyone. Who has been a loyal friend and who has really been by your side? Who do you see still being in your life 5 and 10 years from now?
3. Ceremony Venue Size
Consider how many people can realistically fit next to you in your ceremony space if you plan on having them stand next to you.
4. Other Roles:
Maxed out your bridal party? No worries! There are other roles your loved ones can play in your ceremony. Who said your flower girls or ring bearers can't be adults?
5. Financial Considerations:
Go through the list of items your bridesmaids will need to purchase including wedding outfits, hair, makeup, bachelor and bachelorette weekends, and any other events or purchases. Before you ask someone to be in your party, consider whether they can afford it or if your budget allows for you to subsidize some costs. Be careful not to make financial decision for someone else though based on assumptions. If you really want someone in your wedding party let them decide if they can afford it and be okay if they say no.
