Hey there!
I'm Nicole Peters
Nicole Peters started planning events 10 years ago and she loves seeing all of the details come together for each of her client’s unique weddings. She knows how much stress and emotions events can bring up and it is important to her that all of her clients know that in addition to all of the logistics being taken care of, that they feel seen and cared for on their big day. She has heard over and over again from the brides she has worked with how helpful it was to have her there the day of their wedding, because of the way she emotionally supported them through the process.
Why Wedding Planning?
In 2016 I was in between jobs so I decided to spend 3 months in Guatemala helping run a coffee shop there that was built to create jobs for a youth transitioning out of a local orphanage. As I was sitting there in Guatemala wondering what I should do next I started looking back over my life and paying attention to the things I naturally gravitated to. I quickly realized I was ALWAYS planning events.
In high school I planned New Years Eve parties and birthday parties for my friends. In college I planned large events for hundreds of students on campus. After that I “fell into a job” where I was hosting Christmas and Easter events for a thousand people and coordinating weekly events for hundreds of people… it didn’t start out as an event planning job I just stepped in to help a growing organization and they quickly saw I had a natural talent for event planning.
From there friends started asking me to do their weddings and I moved into non-profit fundraising where I would host annual fundraising galas in Los Angeles and New York. I now have the privilege and joy of doing event planning full time and I just LOVE it. There is so much satisfaction in seeing all the pieces of an event come together to create a beautiful space for people to enjoy and create lifelong memories.
If your name is Nicole, why name your business Polly Knows Best?
I get that question a lot. I decided to name my business after my mom, Polly. She is a boss business lady and I look up to her so much. I wanted my business to have a woman’s name so it felt like you were calling a trusted friend, because that’s what we aim to be. “Need help planning your wedding? Call Polly!” It has a nice ring to it.
Things I love when I am not planning weddings:
Adventuring with my husband
Riding my bike by the beach
Reading science fiction novels
Mentoring women
Buying cute decor and plants that I will eventually find a place for in my home
